Privacy Policy for MagnitBro Extension
Nikolay Serebryakov ("Developer", "we", "us") built the MagnitBro extension ("Extension") for Google Chrome. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Data.
Core Principle: The Extension operates 100% locally. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers or any third-party servers.
1. Data Collection and Use
MagnitBro is designed with a privacy-first approach.
- Download & Scan History: The extension saves a list of scanned websites and downloaded files (URLs, filenames, sizes). This data is saved STRICTLY LOCALLY on your device using the browser's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local).
- Settings: Your user preferences (theme, scan settings) are also stored locally.
- We have absolutely no access to this data.
2. Required Permissions Justification
The extension requires the following permissions to function correctly:
- activeTab / scripting: Used only when you explicitly click the "Scan Page" button to find media files, fonts, and images on the current active tab.
- downloads: Used solely to save the files you select directly to your computer's hard drive.
- storage: Used to locally save your preferences and download history to power the extension's Dashboard.
- notifications: Used to display system alerts about download progress (start/complete).
- alarms: Used to periodically clear the local cache to ensure the extension doesn't take up too much disk space.
3. Data Sharing with Third Parties
Since we do not collect your data, we do not (and physically cannot) sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties. The extension does not include any hidden analytics trackers or spyware.
4. User Control
You have full control over your data. At any time, you can open the Dashboard, go to the Settings tab, and click the "Reset Data" button. This will permanently delete all your scan and download history from your local machine.
